May 20, 1964 - November 26, 2004
James Douglas Donnelly (raised in Detroit) played in a Detroit band called Execution just before I met him. He was introduced to me through a couple of friends (Heather and Rica) in 1987 when he joined the band I was in at the time "Trama."
I also had the pleasure to work with him in my solo act in the late 80's. In the early 90's we played together in the band "Tryton"
After Tryton J.D. played in a band called "The Blind Robins" featuring his brother Ian on drums.
J.D. wrote and performed various bass tracks on all three of my solo albums. He also played bass in my live solo act in 2002.
The guitar and bass tracks for the songs "Planet Damnation" and "The band Wagon" on the new CD "Flying in a Cloud of Controversy" album were resurrected from 1/4", 8 track tapes from the early 90's just so J.D. could be featured on the new CD album. All drums and vocals were re-written and re-recorded.
J.D. was a great writer and a good friend.
He is missed
